This week our opponents tried to simultaneously rewrite history and time travel. Their campaign literature on demonstates their inexperience and lack of education on the issues. The are puppets of Republican party officials who actively troll on Facebook and outsource their political messaging to a consultant in South Carolina. Their campaign has pointed fingers, flip-flopped, and plain old gotten it wrong.
Republicans think they can change history? Don’t let them fool you:
Pointing fingers at Democrats for raising taxes? Councilpersons Horgan and Zipprich proposed 8 altering methods to lower taxes and voted “No” on the Republican-led budget proposal
Blaming Kathy Horgan for spending on shade canopies? Shade canopies were introduced by Republican Mark Taylor, chair of Parks & Recreation.
Republicans alone will clean the river? Not if Red Bank isn’t the point of creation: Navesink River e.coli issues are not identified as having a Red Bank origin. The entire watershed has responsibilities, as reported by Clean Ocean Action (Pathogen Pollution Report June 2016) and a recent report by Red Bank Green.
While being vigilant of pedestrian safety is concern for all, the Democratically led Council adopted pedestrian and bicycle safety (sharrows) and Safe Routes to Schools as part of Red Bank’s master plan…in 2011.
Exactly what have the Republicans done for you lately? Kathy Horgan and Erik Yngstrom are already working for you.
Stand by the candidates that stand for you. Vote Tuesday, November 8.
